We are committed to providing English Learners with a culturally and linguistically relevant education as well as engaging educators in quality professional development so that they can better meet the educational needs of English Learner students.
Approximately 30% of our students come from homes in which the family speaks a language other than English. English learners are assessed annually with the state-required English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) in order to determine their level of proficiency in English and monitor their progress toward becoming fully proficient in English. Students are reclassified to Fluent-English Proficient (R-FEP) when they have met district criteria based on state assessments and teacher and parent input.
