Welcome to Chowchilla Elementary School District! We are thrilled that you are a part of our community. We put children first in CESD!

We are a Kindergarten through 8th-grade school district with five schools serving approximately 2,200 awesome students.

I am thrilled to lead this school district alongside a passionate and service-oriented Board of Education. I am thankful to the CESD Trustees for their dedication to the students and families of Chowchilla. CESD is steeped in a history of excellence in student achievement, instructional innovation, high expectations for students and staff, and a highly supportive community. We believe that we will continue to get better and rise to each challenge we face. We as a staff want to instill this level of commitment in our students. We strive to be lifelong learners and lifelong achievers through a strong work ethic that is a model for those around us. 

We believe in every student!  We believe that we can meet all students where they are and take them where they need to be. We will ask ourselves four fundamental questions in order to complete this task. They are:

1. What do we want the child to learn? (Standards Based Guaranteed Viable Curriculum)
2. How will we know when they have learned it? (Common Formative Assessments)
3. What do we do when they have not learned it? (Intervention-Multi-Tiered System of Supports)
4. What do we do when they have learned it? (Enrichment)

This is hard work and we are in this together! The most important teacher in our students’ lives is their parent/guardian or caregiver. We want to be partners in the work of supporting student success both emotionally and academically. While CESD will provide every resource we can for our students, nothing can replace the importance of a supportive family in student success.
